So... I'm writing a book. No, like... a REAL book. Not a fan comic, but my own story that I plan to copyright and trademark and publish.So... I'm writing a book. by NickinAmerica
So yeah. I don't dare say anything about it here until I have said copyrights, but now I'm thinking of how to go about distributing it once I am ready.
I guess I should go about getting a domain name, but I don't know anything about website creation, and paying someone else to do that can cost thousands of dollars, which I obviously don't have, but maybe I could get a page through smackjeeves, like My Life With Fel and all these other webcomics?
Of course I want to be able to make money with this story, but I don't know how much people will be willing to pay for it. If I, say, release a few preview pages and hide the rest of the comic behind a paywall, well, maybe SOME people will be hooked enough by that first scene to pay $10 or however much I decide on to see the rest of it, but I have a feeling that most won't. I mean, I'm a pretty unknown guy. I'm not famous. People don't
Kinda Losing My Religion...I'm Christian. Or at least I thought I was.
I dunno. I find myself having to make excuses for all sorts of things that just don't make sense with this religion. There's so much fundamentally wrong with it and I've been raised in a household that thinks this kind of thinking is morally wrong or something stupid like that.
The Bible itself is ridiculous. I keep seeing people on Facebook ranting about how "It's not a bag of trail mix! You can't pick and choose what you follow in the Bible!" when in reality they don't realize how hypocritical they're being.
Don't eat shellfish. Don't mix your clothing materials. Don't plant different kinds of vegetables in the same garden. Women aren't allowed to speak in church. Keep Sundays holy. Don't cut your hair or shave. Burn prostitutes at the stake. People with disabilities can't go to church. THESES ARE ALL REAL COMMANDMENTS SET IN PLACE BY THE BIBLE.
It doesn't matter if they try to follow the Bible 100% anyway. It's not like it's consistent.
